Episode #19: Sketching Food
One of my very favorite things to sketch is food. Okay, I’ll admit it… I also just like food in general and love to eat so these two joys go hand in hand really well. For those of you who attended art school, once upon a time, I’m sure you have memories of drawing or painting a still life that likely included some pears, apples or other such fruits. For my own sketches, I simply choose the food that I enjoy and then sit back and enjoy all of the wonderful memories that each little food sketch brings to mind.
It’s uncanny how many wonderful memories can be brought back thanks to food. Whether it’s special dishes from that special aunt at family gatherings or family pizza night. The food is a fun part, to be sure, but it’s the joy of sharing food together that creates such wonderful moments. And, it’s because of this that I adore drawing and painting food whenever I get a chance. So, join me know as I share some of my own memories that came to mind on those times when I found myself sketching food.
Thank you for a something fun to listen to with my morning coffee! Your ramble about your father and onions brought back so many memories of mine. He’s been gone for 37 years, but sometimes it feels like yesterday. One of the wisdoms he passed on to me was his insistence that no one in the family went to bed at night without telling the others ‘I love you’. Sometimes, it was said out of duty, without a whole lot of meaning, but there were many times when the next day, we’d be so glad that we had said it.
Thanks, Sandra! 😃💕Glad you enjoyed this episode! And I think that’s a wonderful tradition to have. Family should always know that they are well and truly loved!

Thanks so much, Kay! 😃💕 I so appreciate your comment and hearing that! Truly can’t thank you enough… I don’t get as many comments on my podcasts as I do on my posts, so I’m never sure if people still enjoy them. Huge hugs!! So happy that you DO!
